-Dean is going off the rails. It's not obvious right away. There's the clown episode, where Sam tries to get Dean to admit he's having a hard time. And then Dean is off the rails in the vampire ep when they first meet Gordon Walker. Sam's sympathy with monsters is growing. And then there's the bit about how dead things should stay dead.
